The Lingo

Ok ya'll, so the lingo in this book is like trying to read a different launguage, confusing, no?

If you look it up online im sure you'll find translations for all those crazy words. Its just old lingo, they are real words. Alex is a kid who is in a gang in england somewhere. Im sure if Alex was trying to read a book that a blood wrote he would be lost too, you know?

So i have been watching this movie and trying to get this book read for three years, and i still havent figured out what kind of archetype Alex is, or any of his 3 droogies.

Do you guys have any ideas?

Or do you have any idea when the story takes place?

The story is set in the future. I think that Burgess gives alex and his droogs the complicated lingo to show the reader how much different the world will be. The lingo also helps the reader pay attention. I, personally, have to go back occasionally and see what some of the words mean.

Eventually, I got what the words kinda meant but I'm only in the beginning. So there might be some introduced. Each gang all might a differnt lingo beacuse the common speech is used.
